Letter 20: Birds

Dear Tim,

I really like the article about birds. This made me think of a composition I have written. Last year, I wrote a composition about the bird as my English homework. Though I am afraid of those real birds that are flying beside me, I still envy them! I want to fly in the sky happily. I want to be free and sing loudly every day. Maybe those birds aren't very delighted like I think, I still hope that I can live like a bird some day.

Yesterday, my five classmates and I had a debate in the English program. The title is " Same-sex marriage". And my team was supporting this. This was my first time to debate. Therefore I was very nervous about it. My work was to talk our summary for one minute. I prepared the short speech for ten minutes and then I just kept my eyes on the article we wrote and read it slowly. I knew that I didn't do very well yesterday. I hope I can be better next time if  I have a chance to debate.
Recently, I keep practicing calligraphy hard. Because I am going to attend a competition in our school. I have not practiced calligraphy since I graduated from elementary school. I just want to try my  best to do it though I still feel stressful...

Sincerely,
Candy

  1. Dear Candy,
Thank you for posting your comments on the website.
The purpose of debates and presentations in class is to make you feel more comfortable speaking in front of a group. The more that you do it, the less nervous you will feel. Keep trying!
The bird is not always flying just for fun. he's often looking for linch.

    Tim
